SHA-1 Hash Generator

Calculate a SHA-1 checksum for text or files, as used by Git object IDs and older certificates. Output as HEX or Base64, all done locally.

How to use it

Type or paste text for a live 160-bit SHA-1 digest, or pick a file to hash it in chunks. SHA-1 has known collisions, so prefer SHA-256 for anything new.
